cause we are living in a material world

What a blast of a night I had yesterday.

I went with some friends for the fox and hound – which is a sports bar (Cleveland is full of sport bars).

By that time beitar already qualified for the finals, and they were showing the man united game. When I left the office it was the 80th minute, and they were showing it as a rerun from the start , so I had to wait for the result, but a great result it was… and I am ready to hear ‘we are the champions’ next week.

So this night was trivia night – having written the questions I did not participate of course ,but I took an active parts in the pizza and wings…

I found some clever questions-  I like the questions where you are unsure, but after wards you say- I knew that  - I don’t like those impossible question like who wrote an unknown book – it’s not fun. I prefer ‘what is the closest star (not planet)’ to the earth- it’s an easy question, but people easily get it wrong.

During the night I held a 2$ per ticket 50/50 raffle – I collected 27$ - which is an interesting sum , considering it was 2$ a ticket ( I let one guy buy 1 for 1$). At the end when I announced the winner. Amanda won, I showed both piles of 13 and 14 and let her choose,  she chose 13 and gave 9 of it back….classy classy. Amanda is also the captain of the west side for my approaching games. Since people paid 2$ for the trivia and the food – the profit was split between my and the other organizer – I did not expect that- so after all 40$ - I was hoping for more, but not bad.

This was a great night potentially for fund raising, not because of the 40$. I recruited some people for my games, but I managed to find promoters.

One of the guys works in the Cleveland state university radio station, he would promote it on the air…the potential is huge…

Another guy knows local musicians and try to arrange some to appear (for free+ food) – yehhhhhhhhhhJ-

Now that I have my end of evening party at the howling at the moon + live music + karaoke during the day (Tim will help arrange that) , and the list of event is set.. I have a few leads on a venue and all I need now is food, and get the people there. I can’t believe I may actually arrange such an event, I am in shock, behelem, I am hamuma.

So after the trivia – the pub arranged a karaoke night – karaoke is also common here -  I love singing , but I still suffer from stage fright – though tonight the anxiety levels were lower than in the past, I started with a safe song- Hazard by Richard Marx – a slow an emotional song- it went ok I think. But I was still anxious, I had an idea that a totally unfitting song will be easier to sing- so I started looking in the big song book for these kinds of songs. Tim and Shelly nearby offered tips-  “I touch my self” “like a virgin” “club Tropicana” by wham “papa don’t preach”, Barbie girl – I was looking for a stupid song that I think I can sing- so I chose ‘a material girl’. The crowed (about 20 people) went wild when they saw the song selection – I got into the rhythm and had a great time, with a bow at the end to the audience. The deal with karaoke is not how well you sing, is how much fun you have, and it was fun!

At the end of the night they held a competition where they chose the songs for you- the point being is to give you an embarrassing song – since I already did that to my self 30 minutes prior, I signed up.

And they chose the same songs I thought about  -  one guy had to do  I touch myself (they demanded demonstrations), another had Barbie girl, another ‘she bangs’ ‘these boot were meant for walking’

One girl came on stage and they gave her ‘my ding a ling’ – never heard this song before – it has a rhythm of a kids songs – and your guess on what is  a ding a ling is a good as mine. But she sang it and we all sang along (fun song).

I was before last , and I got a fast song- fast are hard, since you have to read it, and focus on the music – “I want to be your girlfriend” by avril laving

I missed some words due to the pace, but I got into the chorus and added ‘oh yeh’ when I felt I needed to in a sexy voice J -  I was in the zone.

Each of the singers one an hour of pool or something like it and my touch himself took the prize of a party for 1-20 at this place on a later date.

Most of them were drinking – singing a stupid song after few beers may be easier ( I don’t know, since I don’t drink bear) but I was completely sober- so being fearless on stage (in the last song) felt amazing.

Ok got to go  I am waiting for alla’s car at the shop right now – and I have to send some emails and find my games venue….. I am super excited, the games is only a minor reason…
