i am so ticked off

I forgot to mention that yesterday people were clapping on the plane as it took to the air. My seat was 20C, usually the number is irrelevant, except it was the last row, and the door next to me led to the bath room, never a good place to be on a plane. The emergency seat for the flight attendant is in front of the door, in this narrow hallway, we crouched together. The stewardess asked me if I wanted to meet the designer of the plane. I didn’t get it and asked why, and she said so I could ask him why the seats are so narrow and there is no room to move. I guess she dislikes the plane. On the other side sat a man with a lap child, cute blond kid , that likes to cry. At some point I went to sleep, after being in so many locations in the last week, and the many driving hours, it takes more than a crying baby to wake me up.

I am now an expert on Kansas city airport, and ignoring the misleading signs I went straight to the rental shuttle bus. Went in and stood first in line. The renal clerk look up my name and said “you don’t need to check in Mr. E, just pick any car from the emerald club” J

To start , I am still not used to be called Mr., it’s an American thing. But I do like the club. I wasn’t very meticulous in adding all my mileage points, and many times I was traveling with others and they rented. I am doing a better job with that now (oh, emerald is the lowest form of club in this company, there are higher levels..). So I walked out to lane of the emerald cars and they had very standard cars, so I walked the isle and approached the end, and one car stood out. I don’t usually care for cars. If I see a nice car I will look, but I never dreamt of owning one or anything like that. The car was asking and bugging me to take it, I had no choice, it was out of my hands.

So I took the little bug of the people for a ride.

Having missed the potter movie the previous day in DC, I decided I am due for a movie, and made my way to st. Jo (they city with the wrong charger from 2 weeks ago) and followed Bondi to the Trail cinema. This cinema looks like it was left along the trails in previous years and left to die. It was closed, like other old cinemas within the city, they cannot compete with the big mega cinemas. I asked Bondi again where to go, and now it found 2 more cinemas. So I drove to the mall, and the cinema is located next to best buy (returning to the scene of the crime). I arrived a few minutes after the movie began.  With over 2 hours to kill, I browsed the list of movies, and only one was available.

Have you seen Borat? Well, Sasha Baron Cohen has a new movie, Brunu. I liked Borat, it was crazy but smart. This movie is beyond crazy Shocking!!!, very shocking. Nudity is general good in movies, but this had way to much, and male full frontal nudity is not what I prefer seeing. And there was lots of it. Other than that the movie is like Borat in it’s essence. Bring real people to see events who make them uncomfortable and their reactions are funny. I don’t know how he managed to dress like a gay Dos in Jerusalem and getting away with it. The scenes are partially fake, but partially real which makes it interesting. I guess I recommend the movie, but be prepared to be shocked.

I still had half an hour before Potter, so I drove next door to eat. It was 30 seconds walking, but I drove (this was more of a shocking revelation then Brunu), and then drove back.

I like the potter movies, they are the closer to the book than any other movie seen in the last years, and I read the whole series, this one was somewhat less. I guess it could be from my seat, 2nd row on the very edge in a cinema with a large screen, or the guy next to me who kept texting all through the movie, or the couple that brought a crying baby, who was crying all the time. You would too if you were 2 years old and had to look at Draco Malfoy. I though this movie was PG13- not for babies. A baby does not wake me up but does prevent me from focusing on the screen. I would say it’s the worst of the potters so far, with only one to go, I hope they change the director for the last one.

I drove another hour and something in small dark roads towards Albany,  few small animals were seen by the roads, not sure if they were skunks or raccoons. One of them smelled like a skunk. I now know how to recognize this friendly odor. these roads are simply fun, like roller coasters. Very small hills, and the road goes up and down, up and then down again…. But the hills are steep, so after the top, you don’t see the bottom, which makes it fun. Many of these in the dark definitely keeps you awake.

Today I woke up late and went for breakfast in the restaurant on the other side of the highway (high way here is 1 lane each side, with one car every minute approximately. The sounds of horses caught my attention.

I was lucky to be here in an annual event which displays candy bar race, bat race, panty race, I don’t know what these are, these are side events for the main event which is horse racing.  In a closed muddy ring, there were a few barrels, and horses and riders rode fast and raced for the grand price. they let everyone ride, those with skill and those without (whom are still better then I). the event wasn’t very interesting to me, to slow between rides, and the rides are all the same, any way, not everything is for everyone.

I got breakfast at the only restaurant here and drove to grand trace state forest after asking the waitress is there anything to do there, she didn’t even know what it was! There are no other parks in this area so I was surprised.

The roads to the park are small, some asphalt and some gravel. Usually in these parks, they have a park map to go, this was no exception. I parked next to some truck and got ready to go, where a guy came to the truck with a rifle in hand. I am no weapons expert (only assault rifles I had in the army) but I assumed it was a small caliber gun. I asked the guy, and he was hunting squirrels. I don’t understand why hunt for squirrels when there is a perfectly good chicken in the super market.

I walked the path, which looks like made by a tractor, but there were lots of low trees, high vegetation, flowers, butterflies, dragonflies.

Something rattled for over 30 seconds and I stopped. I don’t think it was a rattler (they don’t rattle as much in movies). I think it was a grass hopper of some kind, but I took a detour around it, went down to the little pond and to the hill on the other side, I stopped to survey the way onward, I saw a red deer in the distance, a hawk taking flight and no squirrels(I would hide too if it was Gil season).  I felt something on my leg , looked down and saw few black spider looking things on them. I quickly brushed them off. Ticks!!! Ugly and stubborn. I quickly decided this was not a place to come with short pants, and made my way back, and during the way, removing more ticks.  I was bit by a tick last year in Nashville, and around the area it was burning for a week. So I was kind of paranoid and kept looking at my legs.

I got in my Bug car. drove to the next town and caught 2 more ticks on my leg. It’s hard to brush them off in the car. I attempted tickecide, those things are impossible to kill. You (I) squash them, step on them,  pinch them, squeeze them and still they move. I guess I should use fire, but I don’t smoke and have no matches. I managed to do it eventually.

From them I drove to the big city of Bethany which has a pizza hut and, well that’s it almost. They have ‘Big Cinema’ which has only 1 movie hall. I skipped that since the next showing was 5 hours later, then went to the super market to buy a book - yes the super market. The library is closed, so are the book stores (Saturday).

I headed back to Albany and saw the horses still running around the same little arena and went to snutch after a final tick test

Oooo, so much from just a simple day, either I am very bored or,,, I guess I am bored

Cheers and good night
