how can mint be upseting?

Sorry for being quite for a while…

You should see these fools in Philadelphia, they see the step of the Philadelphia museum of art and all they see is the ‘steps of rocky’ and running up and down the stairs , jumping, raising their hand and being rocky for a split second. We of course are no wiser then they are, and we have photos of our stupidityJ

After that we actually walked into the museum – which has an impressive arms and armor exhibit, renaissance exhibit with large and details tapestries  similar to the ones in the Louvre – Alla likes Monet, which is not my style, van gouge and  Cézanne, are not better, Pissarro and Renoir  saved that era for me- but I stick with renaissance.

We did the Rodin museum before, which is small but impressive- lots of nude sculptures relating to how inferno and sorrow   are related ,through woman (the cause of sin, and all that crap).

We are on our way right now to reading PA, for a wedding of a Ganahian to a keniat – an African themed wedding- never even seen anything like that so it should be interesting and a be a nuce continuation of this weekend. We are passing by a plant resembling an atomic nuclear reactor, which blow out so much smoke, I would have imagined it’s just had a meltdown- but everyone is alive so far, it’s probably just regular pollution.

The thanks giving weekend started in longwood gardens, it’s a botanical garden- but the trees and lit with thousands of lights and it looks remarkable – and in it there is a big conservatory with plant and flowers from around the world, an impressive place- which should be left to watching photos.

Yesterday was spent in the city. Philadelphia down town is older and looks European , with most houses made from red bricks.

We took a duck tour- which is a guided bus which swims! , it goes in the river- the Delaware- which I never knew was even a river- here in phily – is 800 meters wide- they have too much water

A funny guide told us various facts for future trivia, and various stories on the city and it’s history, then went into the water, for a swim.

After wards we went to the US Mint—a money factory- this is where US coins are made, they wouldn’t let us take some home, or take photos- they think 4 billion$ in the building is a reason to rob it, I guess they may be right. A part of the minting process is upset- which is the part which cleans the coin before stamping it with the final drawing, now I am wiser in coin studies, another piece of useless knowledge to have – but  bit interesting to know.

We moved on to the oldest inhabited street in the us- a narrow ally, with cobble stones a a nice look but not much more.

Lunch was at ‘zahav’ a fancy schmency Israeli restaurant- which was to schmency for our taste- but great Haloumy (which I can find in supermarkets here) and free desert of something looks like a thin lafa with actual ‘shachar’ chocolate- free since the owner wanted to know how it was, and we said  ‘na ’ and ‘ha’- he was curious so we were critical- we tried a Yemenite soup which was flat and Burekas (4$ for 1 small burekas!!!! And not a good one). Yesterday was a food day, and since breakfast in the hotel surprised us by not having Philadelphia cream cheese – we wanted to try something authentic- so here it’s philadephia cheesesteak sandwich- so we went to the most famous place= usually the famous places are not the best- since those are tourists places- but this one had a line of an hour and a half!!! All in 3-4 C freezing cold- I can’t believe I waited this long for a sandwich-  so finally I got the steak sandwich – with no cheese- forgot to get that- so cheese less cheese steak sandwich is not that good. So today I made up for it in a street cart just across from the Czech flag- on he main road here all the flags of all countries are displayed, each with the countries name- so we played some flag trivia while walking- that cart was next to the Czech flag- and l like Czech food- so this sandwich- with cheese this time was not disappointing.

Yesterday was black Friday…  low bat

Go to go

More to follow

from snow to sulphar

Question- who gives way in a public restroom, the person going in or the person going out.

The person going in is probably more in a hurry, so he should get right of way, but the person going out just wants to get out and he want. Oh never mind- it sounded better in my mind before I wrote this

I drove today in Oklahoma and a sign says- ‘wanted truck drivers- just you and Jesus’- first of all the bible never said Jesus was a truck driver, and if Jesus was here I doubt he would want too. I guess I misunderstood he sign.

Signs are another issue all together here- they are simply unclear, if they exist at all- I am driving in the main high way in OK city and the sign says – ‘the airport exit was in the exit you just missed…’

Well slight exaggeration but I saw the sign and immediacy turned right hard to make the exit- no wonder they can’t find J. there are no signs

We tried finding tickets to the eagles this Friday , but no luck- though I managed to see some big bird  of prey of some kind passing just in front of me on the road with some food- I don’t think it was an eagle, I think it was eating a mouse.

The first snow finally hit Cleveland and winter has arrived- the snowflakes barely piled on my porch and I departed for moist Oklahoma – which is the wrong time of year to visit- all the trees are hibernating , and nothing is blooming.

I was entering the city of Sulfur and I see a pillar of smoke (I have a shot of the sign and the smoke behind it)- that is something I don’t want to see- smoke in sulfur. But now it’s time to go

I will be in Colorado tonight, but not in the west – in the Rockies- but in the east where it’s flat and uneventful- but still need to make the most of it- I will find stuff to do.

I had a debate this week with a tool booth- apparently after I threw money at him- he pretended to be stupid and did nothing- very annoying thing from a toll booth since all you need from it- is to change the light to green so you can go- so I paid the fee again, nada- then threw some cents and still nothing. This toll booth is automatic- there are no people there- just me and the machine

So I call the number and they say just go through red – and call tomorrow to avoid a fine- the next day it happened again in the same toll (so far my success ratio in this toll is 50% 2/4)- so far the toll is winning- I paid 1-2 $ extra and probably end up with a fine- and have to prove that I paid, and called… I know I am going to hear this again and there is nothing I can do---well .

Have you ever been to Wisconsin? I haven’t- but the rumor is that wisconsinights speak slowww- people told strange things about me over the years- speaking slow is not one of them- but these OK people are convinced- something is wrong with the world.

Last weekend I went to a pot luck and beer bottling event

The pot luck is every one bring something home cooked- or that is the idea- I brought my chilly- which didn’t go very well-  my chilly requires good quality beans- like Heinz canned food- but I am having problems finding Heinz here- I thought It was an American product- but I guess I was wrong- so I tried some other brand and a can of refried beans-  and I tried that with some quality meat- the result- the chilly was embarrassed – some of the others in the meet brought some salads and some home cooked food- and then somebody bought a pizza

The reaction is amazing- so much cooked food and people chase pizza (me too)

The 2nd part was beer bottling- I don’t know why I joined- since I don’t drink beer, and I don’t like cleaning- so it started with cleaning the used beer bottles- sanitizing, washing and other forms of labor- then putting the home made beer in the bottles with sugar and stuff for it to brew- and a month from now- someone will enjoy my sweat, blood and beers.

That is it- about to depart from Oklahoma- the 29th state for me

And sorry for the lack of interest here-

p.s is Tobey kith a new nick name for god?- the wont shut up about it

A week ago I was racing with the Teflon man , us and 10 other guys

We kept passing each other, back and forth but no matter what I won all 5 races (by winning I mean I was before him)

In one of the races I was leading the entire race- a surprise – and I saw the finish line- and then the car stopped- right on the finish line- I raised my hands in victory

I assumed it was over- but apparently a lightning bolt hit the cart

So 2 guys passed me (not including Mr shai Teflon herman) before I made the extra meter to cross

Yes wii racing is fun.

A busy 10 day in Israel just ended- jumping from one event to another, meeting family and friends and missing some friends, sorry there are only 24 hours a day

We went for a day trip to the Tavor- a mountain on my list for a long time- we parked the cart in the bus terminal in a village known for stealing your car(and getting away with it)

And went up the Israel trail to a short but very steep climb to the top of the mountain( where Sisra was defeated and Jesus  was transformed) and took the trail surrounding the peak and there we encountered an unknown animal

It looked like a small bear cub, brown as big as a dog but wider, flat back and walks like a bear- but there are no bears in Israel other than in the zoo- I assumed it was a badger (Girit) and found confirmation in websites that there are badgers there, but rarely seen- so my luck with animals continues

We circulated the peak till we reached the church of transformation- and noticed the signs saying service (in a coffee shop) is given only to pilgrims- very nice views from the top

On Saturday after a tshulnt lunch we did a barbeque at arsuf while the sun was setting.

Watch step brothers which was hilarious as much as it was stupid and it was very very stupid.

On Tuesday I walked in to the kalfi (voting place) with my brothers party shirt- campaigning is not allowed inside the complex- but no one stopped me at the gate- only inside the room- some one noticed and some discussion occurred between the committee, weather I should be allowed to vote or not

The chairman decided to let me vote and told the annoying b…ch who was an observer write her objections to the voting protocol

The discussion ended when I offered to wear my shirt inside out, and so I did

I voted for my brothers party of course and the mayor vote was another things- not liking the current one or the opposition- I wanted to place an empty ballot- which means nothing but a vote of protest

Those were not available – so I had to ask- and the .eac. remarked softly ‘those meretz wiseasses ’

I was truly pissed by her comment- most things passed through me but some hit the mark ( I don’t know why this bothered me so)- and wanted to slap her or something- but it’s wrong to harm animals

So after placing the ballot – I told her loud – that what she is doing is campaigning- she should not allowed to dismiss a party while she is working there- and told her to write that in the protocol

And felt vindicated

When the day was done- and record breaking 5 (of 19) for  the party-  it was known that 10% of voters for mayor placed an empty ballot- I think this high number though has no official meaning- is a major vote of protest for the mayor who will remain there for 5 years more.

That night I got a departing party from my good friends- thank you for coming and then went to the party headquarters to wait for the results – a news photographer arrived after the victory speech and wanted us to recreate the happiness – so I gave him instead some photos that I took- so perhaps my name will be in the paper – I can start a new career.

In the last months I had a canceled flight due to plains being grounded, changed flights for lack of payments, delayed flight, but never a miss flight-till now

A short connections and long security lines- caused me to run to my gate- only to find out- that it was changed to the other side of the airport and arriving on time- but the flight had already left…

So spending a quality morning at the airport waiting 4 more hours till the next flight.

On the plane they had a very nice on demand personal TV per passenger- so I took the head set and opened them- but pulled the cord too hard and the wires ripped- must be a sing I thought so I resumed sleep mode, 5-7 hours later, I got bored of sleeping but didn’t want to bother the couple next to me (window seat) so I waited for the isle food tray person to pass by- I guess they were busy- so I waited more instead of going to them to get another set- so after reading and finishing my book- the plane landed, and as I got up- I noticed another head set right next to me.

Flying in 1:40 minutes- time to do some work- see you back in February

special democracy edition- the winner takes it all:)

Back when meretz were at the peak of success in Israel (1992)- the Raanana branch had 4 mandates (out of 19)

Last election set raannana meretz with 2 mandates

And now after a brilliant campaign where meretz in Israel maintains its strength

The only major success for the party is in Raanana

Meretz – becomes the number 1 party in the city – with a record breaking 5 mandates (before the soldiers votes are counted)

Hofrey the mayor’s party – is 3rd in the city with 1 yes ONE vote less than the 2nd party and 300 after meretz

#4 in the list is my brother shai – who is now a city council member

And since he ran the campaign – he got the majority of the congratulations- from party members and members and campaigners from other parties alike- and I have the videos to prove it J

In previous emails  I sued the word proud with a smile- never actually meaning it

But today- watching my little brother handling every one and faces a defeated mayor (in the council, he is still mayor ) and manages not to look superior – a very gracious winner

Now I am proud.

Now I can go to sleep its 4 am

p.s waiting for the votes of soldiers to confirm

photos from haloween

am i smarter than a 7 year old?

With elections coming up everywhere I wanted to share my political beliefs

It is not widely known that I belong to a movement called the power seekers

Our numbers grow each day

Our motto is POWER

You can easily recognize us in airports and public places as we demonstrate our relativeness

we are usually found on the floor, or next to the walls- or with a lap top in our hands desperately looking for an outlet to power up.

Our search is easy in some airport but difficult in others- some places have welcomed us and set places for charging phones and lap tops- others like Newark where I am now sitting on the floor next to a post enjoying an outlet- I found one before but it was disconnected- this one is working fine. So obviously I have a lot of time now…

You’ve seen me in Purim of last year’s- I enjoy finding unique outfits- and for me originality is better than a good looking costume- with that I was looking forward for my first Halloween

I was driving yesterday from Cleveland to Erie (where alla goes to school) , and driving east while the sun sets highlights the colors of the trees and I was admiring the entire road (October is the month to visit the north east). I reached Erie and watched the little kids trick or treating- going house to house and begging for candy- the houses are all decorated with pumpkins, spider webs, ghosts, ghouls, and other suppose to be scary figures.

And later we went to a costume shop to find something for a Halloween party- since I was supposed to be in Israel by now I didn’t have time to plan, Alla goes to pharmacy schools and we work with pharmacists so I looked for something in that area.

We considered Rx, or Ace inhibitor (buy a hat from ace and add no or a big X) and then the light bulb turned on- drug to drug interaction!

The results is in the attachment – unfortunately the results is not as good as the idea- I have pink, blue and green color in my hair but it doesn’t show (rip off cheap merchandise) – so I shaved parts of my face (alla said it is a result of some disease) and added some green color and make up, see attach

PA310058.JPG

The idea for Halloween and Purim as well where it comes to female costumes is this- less is better, lower even more

Every princess, queen of the night, elf, Lilith, fairy, bunny , witch and Marylyn Monroe costume comes with a very very short skirt. I was surprised by the amount of time (money) invested in these costumes

There was a guy dressed in a box looked like a gift – with a message – from god to woman

A girl with panties and a tight shirt – and somebody outfit to appear looking naked

Another girl with panties and a bra – with yellow crime scenes ribbons wrapped around her- she was supposed to be a crime scene

A ghost buster

A girl dressed like a teen age mutant ninja turtle (with the shell)

The Mario brothers, various demon and ghosts from all types, harry potter was dating a Hermione

And some guy who thinks he looks anything like drug to drug interactions

So I did what I always do- took lots of photos

This week I was in Texas- and I tried to write something mid week about not everything being bigger and better in Texas and suffered from a bloggers block

I was in a small town and asked some people where would one go to see animals, or where is there a nice park- they both looked at me like deer in spot light- finally pointed me to some pond

I asked them about the national grassland which was an hour away- they didn’t even know what I was talking about

A lot of driving this week as well- this state is way too big- but the road at this time of year is boring – fields and fields that not even the setting sun makes any better

And another little town in mid Texas where things were interesting

2 weeks ago the staff bought me a cake- a whole cake- this is their way of tipping I guess) but here a pharmacist actually baked him a cake- baking is more impressive than buying

And a good one too- apparently the ladies here like ibu- though he (and they) are married- don’t worry- we (try) to be professionals and avoid such things, but he was trying to avoid one specific nurse which came on her day off to see him...

The very same pharmacists makes bags- she takes jeans hand bags and add her personal touches and hands them out- and refuses to get paid- my next destination was Dallas for my new born niece so I though a bag would be a nice gift for my 7 year old niece.

So I leave the hospital for a short 4.5 hours drive to Dallas, and a stop on the way to buy a gift for my nephew (it is against the low to bring a gift for one of them and not the other) and I stop at Wal-Mart and get some flying remote chopper.

I enter the house and the kids jump on me and the dog as well- Daniel sees the chopper and immediately turns his attention to that- that’s ok- I would too

And then my niece says – you didn’t bring me any clothing right?- I say oh no to myself and  pull out the bags (which are very nice) and get the “face” –

So now the games begin- though she took the bags she was trying also to get me to buy her some toy as well- she knows I am a pushover
the reason why she didn’t get a toy is because I arrived late night only to leave the next morning- no time for more shopping but had arranged for me to ship her something

Later we played some taki

She wins the 1st game and I win the rest- so after a while when she loses she starts to cheat and starts taking from the pile the +2 cards- although she cheats- she is not good at it- I cheat in return and just get the card that makes you swap cards with each other- so she start giving me the +2 cards and I swap decks with a smile- that pisses her off and game was over

So after everything- she got to bags and a toy (to be delivered) and managed to look unhappy- so am I smarter than a 7 year old?

The younger niece – neta- is 7 days old- she just sits there and does nothing…

Daniel is still busy with the chopper

Max The dog jump all over me- and wants to play –we do and then I tell him to seat down- he does not listen- he knows I am a pushover too (he listens to everyone else)

The week before I was in Washington state and the hospital with the better view than any other site I visited- overlooking the vast hood river on the one bank and forests all around- this river is a world premier site for wind surfing- but not enough time for that- we managed an hour drive in the forest looking for wild life- no luck this time- but have some great photos

Today I drove back to Cleveland- enjoyed what appear to be the last days of fall- and right now at the airport in new York (still with power J )

With still 2 hours before my flight back
