so you are going to jail

I am in jail and I didn't even get my 1 free call.

Don't worry , I hadn't done anything wrong, or at least I haven't been caught doing something wrong.

This is for work.

I am unsure on how much I can share, but I had to go through lots of locked doors with escort, seen the bars, prisoners, cuffs, basketball courts and all the other things you normally see in jail. Cool (actual very hot and dry in this city of sins)

Last week I spent in a hospital (for work) left Sunday night, and caught a plane this morning. 2 nights in a row of barely sleeping, but I slept on a plane like it was a comfy bed.

My flights are rarely uneventful. On the 1st , after the pilot left the gate, he stopped , then came back to the gate. I began thinking of possible reasons which I have seen in movies, but I was surprised. "there is a bug on the plane" the pilot said that he thinks the problem will be resolved after rebooting of the plane! One thing you don't want to hear on the plane is that there is a bug that requires rebooting. I told them not to use Microsoft on planes… so the pilot turned the plane off, and a couple of minutes later I was fast asleep, so I assume the problem was indeed solved.

The 2nd flight was simply delayed for little over 30 minutes. in my sleeping position, I didn't care.

Sin city is hot as always. I hope I can manage to travel a bit, usually I don't manage on these work trips.

The flight from above was incredible; I was awake the last hour of the flight and the scenery over Utah was awesome. Table mountains, big rivers cutting the desert landscape, earth of various colors; too bad my camera wasn't there, though plane shots are never in good quality with my camera.

In the first evening we went to a café in Paris hotel. miss James and our guests had some steaks and I was beat from the weekend and had a clam chowder, mash potatoes and rice- no main dish. And miss j kept trying to push a steak my way (it came in 3 pieces). I kept denying and in the end she just took it and put it on my plate. It was left uneaten, I blamed miss James of being polish.

After that the polish chick went gambling and I went sleeping.

I woke up late this morning, so I missed on a Vegas buffet breakfast. On the way I went to Walgreens for breakfast (Walgreens is a pharmacy, not a breakfast place).  Which I better them my shameful lunch at MacDonald yesterday (being a former BK employee, MC is the enemy) , and it was especially bad yesterday. We passed by an original mac joint- I didn't know they used to look different. So I had bad food today, but they brought pizzas for lunch and pizza is rarely bad.

We will see what we will do tonight, probably nothing special. It's not as fun without racer here, waste of Vegas and there are no live music shows this week (summer here is the off season). We'll see.

Tomorrow more fun in Jail; oh, a jail is a facility where people are detain before they are sentenced, usually of days, months , rarely over a year, so the people here may still be not guilty, but they look like bad asses ( I was told the woman's ward is worse). A prison is after sentencing, 5,10,20 years (or months in Israel prisons for good behavior).

p.s do you know what is the difference between a chickling –גוזל  and a chick –אפרוח?

who brings the baby stork for the stork itself when she is pregnanat? andsome monkies photos

I don't know; I am transformed between writing good and bad review on the transformers movie.
On the one hand, very cool affects, the right amount of jeans and an interesting storyline.
On the other wheel, they changed Meghatron, you can't recognize the voice of star scream (major point deduction) and lots of unrecognized bots. The last movie was closer to the original. This one, they gave a big budget to a non fan. And the result is not up to code.
I think this movie is a commercial for Chevrolet; all the bots were chevi's. I had a chevi , it was green and cute, but it did nothing when they stole the symbol off it.
Well I guess I have decided on a bad review.
But movies are going from down to up.
I just sat the movie "UP" which is a Disney movie.
Like in previous movies of this kind it had a short preview movie with storks. The cutest short movie ever. Not hilariously funny but simply cute.
I was already in a good mood. The movie itself is slower than the usual cartoon. There are funny parts, but the movie is more touching than funny. I do not recall a cartoon of this quality in recent years, simply a very good tale.

The previous previous Monday was our last full day. It stated at...work and alla was doing something (lousy memory). After work we met along with my mom at mikve Israel. The ancient agricultural school. We have a connection with a wedding planner who hosts events there. Though I was about to settle on a location, this was something special.
I think I wrote on this place, but if not...
It's a outer garden of an old synagogue. With lots of trees, and distinct trees. Old fycus trees, palms and more types. There were 'duchifats' and green 'drara' parrots . all that with the streep of ancient palms makes this place ideal. Love at first palm. With the hupa between 4 tall palms.
From there we went for my grandma for a good bye dinner. 2 friends of Alla joined as well and later some of my friends came as well, and it came to be a nice unexpected party with an expected(but futile) numbers exchange between Mr contemplator Herman and world traveler Odell. In the morning my dad took us with a shoko in sakit to the airport. We returned the rented phone and Alla forgot her phone at my house (she is picking my bad habits).
We made our 1st (and only so far) wedding purchase with 2 bottles of Chevas and checked out of Israel.
A short uneventful trip.

on star scream and dead sea waters

Should I get out of my sit and go see the transformers movie?

YesJ

After all , I am seating on a couch in middle of nowhere ,new York cinema and already bought my ticket.

The 1st movie it though was great. I remember 1 critic criticizing the very thing I liked which was Megatron shouting at star scream. A bit to much on the humans though, who needs them…

Its Friday and I am still reporting on Friday2 weeks ago. So we came in to the golden tulip hotel and washed the river dirt and stuff and had a fully loaded hotel dinner with popsicles after wards.

Then we all played trivia and we now know the difference between Zvi and yael. The evening went pleasantly.

In the morning we had a deluxe hotel breakfast filled with the standard Israel hotel goodies and after another popsicle we went to metzada for the official grand tour.

My dad has just finish his formal education as a tour guide and we got to be his first official tour (though he is a tour guide for over 10 years). The tour was very extensive, with all the history, background and details untold to random tourists. As always up there it was hot and dry, and in the end we found how the rebels had water to resist the Romans (want to know how, go to baderech.co.il and book a trip). At the end we had a grand surprise from above. Rain! , I can officially claim to have been struck in the left leg (the good one) by 1 drop. Yes 1. Some were hit by a few more. And others still do not believe that there was rain. Well, there was. After the 3 hours tour we got some fresh squeezed OJ. Not the bottle that says it is freshly squeezed, the real thing. It was so good. I think, as always with these things with me, the experience makes it remembered.

After that my friends went home and we drove to the hotel for a popsicle and a snuch, then went for a swim in the dead sea. Another decent dinner and late night debate on Metzada and we went to sleep, only to wake up early and be in the dead sea at 6:00. With hardly anyone there we floated and enjoyed the cool waters (cool in the dead sea is below urine temperature). Sorry linda, cool waters sounds better then cool water. The S add coolness to the waters.

Just imagine if Roger waters would be called Roger water. Or Butters would be known as Butter, it will not work.

We ate breakfast and drove back after a quick stop for gifts. I dropped alla at her aunt twice removed (or something) in law in Jerusalem and drove to work.

Later that day I picked up Alla from her something something (forgot the relation) cousins in Hertzelia. From there we went to visit the official blog spell checker (who spell checks after I send it, so spelling mistakes, which I NEVER have, are not her fault). And then we went to my dad for dinner.

Poor alla was being overfed by her family and by the time she reached my dad she couldn’t eat another bite, and was feeling bad about it. After all when you come to dinner you must eat. But no worries, the evening went well. But the evening did not end, for Amit visited us later (11 pm by now) to discuss crucial details on the approaching Alaska trip.

Ok it is time to go- the movie is about to begin

Will star scream get his way? I don’t think so, but I will know very soon

on white black and the ghostly singer between them....also on eilat

Should I transform out of bed and go watch the transformers movie?
It's end of June , and it's pouring out side, with a thunder storm! What the he_l is going on with this weather.
One Thursday 3 weeks ago it , oh sorry 2 weeks ago, was a beautiful day. My sister dropped my fiancée in the office and we headed south to Eilat.
With good music and good shawarma (same from last blog, it was just that good) we took the mitzpe ramon road and avoided the Arava road, by staying on road 40 as long as possible. I think that road is nicer (and safer). We stopped in a little hotel/hostel and didn't stop for Shoko at Yotveta.
With no time to spare we hit the beach and enjoyed the cool waters of the red sea. After a quick beach shower we went to do the usual tour of the board walk. Near the place we swam there is a very fun attraction. You go and sit in a ball type device and it launches you in the air in kind of a reverse Bungy. I was in Eilat a few times in the last years and this device was there, but I couldn't find companions for the ride. I had to go all the way to cleveland to find someone willing  . we did the ride after sun set but before it was too dark. You are launched up, and then you can look back and see the most amazing views of Eilat bay and the surrounding mountains.
The movie is uploaded as I write these wards to You tube and there it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQpTk82EwJY
Sorry for the music, it was out of my hand (which were in a seatbelt in the device). If you have never tried it, go next time, it's great.
Excited we moved on and passed the Pri shake stand just before the board walk bridge and ordered my usual Banana melon on an orange juice base, which was better the last time I tried it. We crossed to the other side of the bridge where some girls without beads were doing beads for tourists. Which as I wrote before, we now are. So Alla stepped up to the plate (in a form of a chair) and took the bead challenge.
I don't know how people do it, are beads worth the pain. I guess girls will do crazy things just for the look. Even Alla (this is the start of a sentence but also a future name) didn't think it would hurt. But check out the photos, she was clearly in pain. And all I could do is get her a red colored slushy and take photos. The result was rewarding.
Miss beady and I moved to the end of the board walk and had a nice meal at the giraffe, then went to relax by the sea again and visit more animals.
The3 Monkies bar (which is the only place in Eilat; there are others of course, but for some reason no one knows/remembers them). We enjoyed the over salty peanuts, some cocktail and a live show from some British band including dancing.
Next morning we went to the border, and Alla took a photo of the border crossing. A border patrol dude came to us and asked us politely to delete the photo. You don't mess with security so we deleted and moved to Almog beach for breakfast.
Alla ate A Denise and declared it the best ever and I had a great four cheeses bagel toast. Then with full stomachs we went snorkeling with the sea cucumbers and various sea dwellers for a couple of great hours.
We stopped by the super market for road lunch and ate some ice cream bars and headed north for the dead sea.
our first destination in the dead sea was ein Bokek. A small watery ravine, we walked up stream(the water barely reach your ankles) until we reached a little pool (water till your knees and dove in.
this vadi we did with my friends who went met us there for a dead sea weekend.
We couldn't stay long in the river with Amit trying to get reception on his cell and had to get to the hotel for dinner with my family (they all came to the dead sea).
On dinner and trivia in future nights

p.s I just saw the "thriller" clip. And the character of Michael Jackson there is a copy of how he was today….hours before he died.

cheers and good night from middle of nowhere, New York

save your love

For months now I had a song on the tip of my Google search and I was unable to find it, you probably at one point did a similar search or asked people and hummed to them, I have done this a few times in the past. All I remembered was it was a male and female love duet, partially in Italian, the guy sounded like an opera singer and the girl did not. Seems like a lot to go on, but still didn’t help.

Today I went in for a search and struck musical gold. The 1st site I found was for a guy looking for the same song; didn’t know the name either; it was a forum, and the only people talking were the asker, and this guide with a logo of a zombie (not a very romantic zombie), somewhere on page 2 , I found my answer.

A quick YouTube search (now that I have the name) and viola save your love.

A bit of a nostalgic day, after the two month strike at the open university where I go ended, I am returning to home work; so I had to choose some valid entertainment while I am reading the course book. Got for classic movies. Citizen Kane, a clockwork orange (“the mechanical orange”) , and new classics of ant bully and miss congeniality 2. I think I may seen miss 2, but not sure; this is a fitting movie since it requires no concentration; but unfortunately the DVD is bad, so I moved to ant bully (cartoon) which was equally bad. Lucky the relatively new film, citizen Kane proved a quality movie and I finaly get what rosebud is (nothing to do with my information systems course though).

So it is Monday again and I spent my day at work while Alla hangs with my mom and sister again, I forget exactly what they did each day, in the evening after I returned from work, a friend of Alla’s came to the house and after wards we went for my dad for dinner; not much occurred this day.

Tuesday was the day of bloom and blooma, I was working and alla went (guess with who) to the market and to nachalat Binyamin and greatly enjoyed the artists display and the great fruit, more burekas and others.

I went later to do some paper work related with insurance- and forgot to bring with me some needed paper work (typical); the annoying insurance clerk showed me emailed asking me to bring them (who saves outgoing mail…), no worries,  she was just doing her job.

After that I went to meet alla at a child hood friend of her moms. I arrive on time and alla is delayed in the market. I have the house number but not the family name. so I hang out side a building in ben yehuda street. And a woman comes in, sees me looking around and asks me what I am seeking. I ask if she knows blooma. And blooma answers “I am blooma”. We quickly exchange queries on the location of alla. And understand that she has not arrived. Apparently she was waiting for Alla outside on the street , and for some reason she guessed I was myself (she didn’t know I would arrive by myself). We went up to her apartment and began a nice conversation , while trying to avoid being forced to eat (the problem with visiting people is that everyone offers you food; I am not skinny, If I say I am full, I really am!!!). alla came later and the talk moved to Russian with a very excited blooma and lots more food which I straggled to ignore, but didn’t do very well. The discussion went on, and I moved to needed snuch position on the couch. Woke up an hour and something later with 6 eyes staring at me. 2 belonged to blooma, 2 to alla and 2 to Blooma’s son. A few minutes later we headed out equipment with a goodbye Egozi gift ; but a bad Egozi; well you can’t enjoy them all. From there we moved to search various wedding halls. Kidmat eden was Alla’s favorite, but not mine- too big for my taste, though nice with a big pool; I don’t want to get married by a pool. This is considered a good place, so it was added on the list. From there we went on only to scare a fox crossing the road; I knew it was a sign, but not sure to what (pro or against this place), all I know it was a sign. The tapuz in basra is actually a restaurant, but for a very small wedding this place is perfect; the place is filled with the scent of cedar from the orange orchard, wooden rustic floors and great shakes. This was my new small favorite. We moved to another tapuz in rishpon and got into a debate on the affect of messy walkways on the happiness of wedding guests. This Tapuz was also nice, but not as the previous ones’ so we got some dance lights ideas and went back to derech eretz (the place with the photographer) for a closer look, price checks and other details. This place was now by far our leading number one. Iwas ready to close (since looking too much was not something I wanted to spend my time here on, and how much better can other places be? Really? If you like a place , it’s good enough. The hunt for better will tier you. The only problem that we had to wait for a while to see if this place gets license for the next year and it was by far not cheap.
with that I went to work the next day and alla went with my mom and….got you… my dad to Jerusalem for a visit in the Kotel,  a VIP tour in the Knesset and the old city. Armed with Jerusalem bagels , alla stopped by the office on the way back for an office tour. We went to old Jaffa for a ‘just us’ evening. Walked around in the romantic areas, and wished whatever we wished on the wishing bridge, watched the sun set over the sea and enjoyed the breeze. Later we met friends in a trendy (but humming with mosquitoes) beach bar for a nice evening of drinks (coke) and chatting.

On Thursday I left for work and alla went with my sister and her friend Tami (who lost a lot and looks very good; but my friends are not tall enough) to a museum which I never visited in Tel Aviv. And a visit to Andrei ice cream (contender for best in Israel) and brought me a very very yami shawarma (best in Israel according to tammi ; and I don’t disagree). Michal went to work and I left with Alla heading south to Eilat.

On the road to Eilat I will tell tomorrow, I need sleep and to listen to the song one more time

Cheers and save your love, for Roma and for me.

4 hours orienteering at cuyahoga falls

Nothing special but walking intensively for 4 hours
Both my leg and I were hurting but satisfied
