why does a tarantula cross the road?

So after coming back from Oregon and Chicago last week and watching Chicago in the fall

and having minor complications at the check in (yes again) but not as interesting as the week before

this is Halloween time- so we went to try something local- a haunted house- this is not like the ghost train in the Luna park

it’s a house with rooms (very surprising so far) each room has different lighting , and colors on the walls- some walls are painted stripes, some dots, spots- and there are stuff in the  rooms- like ropes, or bubbles, and lots of mist- the idea is you don’t see anything- and in there there are actors dressed as monsters and ghosts- and they come real close and quiet and scream at you, or pull a knife (fake), or a chain saw( also fake, I think)- and just spook you from every location- most were not scary (since I saw them a split second before- but some made me jump higher then shimeon mizrachi after a call against from the refs

there were 2 houses like that and another scary stroll in the woods and same stuff- people jumping at you from everywhere, the floor, behind trees- scary fun!

In one room there was a scary clown type guy and lots of doors- each with a handle – the clown said to find our way out- we go door by door and pull- they all fail to open- in the dark- no one thought of pushing the door…

The last room had a little bridge- and the room was tube shaped- and lights moved all around- so the room appeared spinning- It was not- but it felt like that- very hard to move forward, very disorienting and a minute after we made it to the other side- our legs still shaked- way cool.

I believe I spoke once or twice recently about cedar point – having missed it a couple of times- but not any more

I went there with alla – and this gigantic Luna park delivered

Have you seen a power point which came by mail (probably from me) about a huge roller coaster- and at the end you see a woman peeing on herself?- that was one of them- so much fun- so many loops, reversed loops side loops, standing sitting, huge drops. But the most scary thing of all was the lines… so long to wait:L

But now I have a season pass- so if you come visit- this is one of the mandatory stops- I have only done half of the rides… lots more work to do on this park

This week has been all about the desert- I am in Nevada now- close to area 51- no aliens so far but lots of wild life

On the way (3 hours north of las vegas) we saw a mice of some kind passing the road- I don’t know what it was- probably a mouse

Later a jack rabbit (a big rabbit) came by

So I told my college we are moving up in size and said we should see a wolf and then a deer

And like magic (or alien work)- before we arrived- we almost ran over a coyote (this one was not that Wyle) , then in town- a deer crossed the road.

While working outside of the hospital- disassembling stuff- we saw some more deer on a near mountain and heard the staff tell about their hunting trips and the existence of mountain lions (big big cats) and bob cats (just big cats) in the area- so it is my new mission in life (for today and tomorrow, that is) is to see a bob cat.

So after work today we drove in to the desert to look for bobcats and whatever we could find

The Nevada desert looks like the desert in Israel- at least in some parts- only more vegetation

And after a while we started having some luck

The 1st non bob cat wild animal was a wild horse- apparently in this area there are still hordes of wild untamed horses- and we just stumbled on one of them- it was standing about 20 meters from us- trying to hide behind a big yellow bush- it couldn’t hide from my camera J- that was a small horse- like a pony – we looked at each other for a few minutes- then one of us went back to the car and drove on- the other remained to forage the bushes

Few minutes later a camera shy fast moving hawk went by- and few more deer

Rabbits began popping up from everywhere

The highlight of the day was a big ass tarantula (unlike a small ass tarantula)- which just happen to cross the road- so we followed for a while- it didn’t say much.

We ended watching a desert sunset

Photos coming up in another mail soon
